Red, Rigger & Gaga each took and passed their CGC exams: well-behaved dogs!
My dogs have to be able to sit still and the breakfast bar while I prepare scrambled eggs and slice bananas...they have to wait until everyone has their plate and I release them to eat...this is Rigger and Gaga-they did well and enjoyed their treat!
Had a great day full of training today! My friend Cindy came down from Austin with her Boykin Ralphie. We trained upland with quail in the morning and then went over to Alvin and did training with our retriever club with chukar and pigeon in the afternoon - everyone did awesome and looked so stylish! Put those labs to shame lol!
Great opener with bag limits both days! Gaga and Rigger retrieved 60 teal this weekend!!! Great first hunt for Rigger and Gaga was ecstatic to get back to real hunting. It is so amazing to watch Gaga work...but she had to be on her toes as Rigger picked up fast and handled cripples with ease (just like his big sister)! Rigger even retrieved a banded teal-his lucky day! The boys are rockin' and rollin' this summer! Rigger and Red both earned their SHR titles at the hunt test in Pineville, Louisiana. I ran Rigger and Katelyn ran Red - all went well and we look forward to finishing up their JH titles soon!
We just took a houseboating vacation to Voyageur National Park (Minnesota/Canada) - Lola was just 9 weeks old so it was great "exposure" training for her - Gaga had tons of fun exploring all of the islands (it was hard to convince her that the loons on the water were not part of her fun)!
We picked up Lola on this trip so only brought Gaga for simple introduction-sake - they bonded well and Lola tagged after Gaga the entire trip!. Lola got to climb up and down hills (mini-mountains), rocks, over downed trees, ride in boats, and learn to navigate a gang plank (she fell in the water a few times while goofing around - so she got some swimming lessons too!) |
